Sample Motion For genetic Testing

Family law cases often require genetic testing to establish or dispute parentage. When DNA testing is intended for use in court, the process must follow documented chain-of-custody procedures and be analyzed by an AABB-accredited laboratory to ensure the results are admissible.

To assist attorneys handling paternity and parentage cases, Lucky Labs has created a sample Motion for Genetic Testing template that can be used as a reference when preparing filings. This template outlines common language used when requesting court-ordered DNA testing. As with any legal document, attorneys should modify the language as needed to comply with applicable state law and court requirements.
